乔治亚州（乔治亚州）一般指佐治亚州

佐治亚州(Georgia，简称GA)，又译乔治亚州，美国东南部7个州之一。北接田纳西州和北卡罗来纳州，南邻佛罗里达州，东北与南卡罗来纳州接壤，东南临大西洋，西毗亚拉巴马州。其面积152488平方公里，人口969万。首府亚特兰大。

佐治亚州的州鸟是棕色长尾鸟。州花是查拉几玫瑰。1996年亚特兰大奥运会在这里举办。

历史沿革

佐治亚州早期为印第安人聚居地，最初为西班牙人发现。1733年英国移民于此地开垦，是英国最初在北美建立的第13个殖民地，以英王乔治二世的名字命名。

1788年佐治亚批准了联邦宪法，成为第四个加入美利坚合众国的州。

1861年初脱离联邦，成为南方邦联的最初成员之一，是美国内战的主要战场。

1870年重新并入联邦。
